Goal scorer: Lanzini

West Ham all but ended Tottenham’s title hopes, in this narrow victory. A first win in three for the Irons was sealed when Manuel Lanzini drove the ball home from close range, to move West Ham up to 12th position in the Premier League.

Talking Points: Will Bilic –really, still be manager next season amid reports, the board will not be sacking him. Who’s the striker they need? As for Tottenham, can Spurs continue to improve next season and go one better? Or will the seemingly impending transfer of Kyle Walker to Man City result in a mass exodus?

Chelsea 3-0 Middlesbrough

Goal scorers: Costa, Alonso, Matic

This straight forward victory edged Chelsea just one more win away from reclaiming the Premier League title, whilst condemning Boro to relegation back to the Championship, after just one season.

Man of the match, Cesc Fabregas was influential throughout, with two assists. While Chelsea demonstrated some beautiful attacking movement, with Cesc shining among their star players, Middlesbrough offered no resistance and were genuinely very poor as their fate was confirmed.

Talking Points: Is this Costa’s last season? Who will be the man to lead Boro straight back up?

Man City 5-0 Crystal Palace

Manchester City's Vincent Kompany celebrates scoring their second goal with team mates

Goal scorers: Silva, Kompany, De Bryne, Sterling, Otamendi

Manchester City steam rolled over a lacklustre Crystal Palace, to close the gap on third place Liverpool to a single point, with a game in hand!

Silva and De Bryne were at their best, while the inclusion of a fit again, Vincent Kompany, also added some recently absent solidness’ to their defence. Crystal Palace meanwhile, severely missed key defenders Sakho, Dann and Tomkins – and ultimately were out played in every department. The Eagles stay hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone in 16th place, just four points ahead of Hull City. Their next match – Hull City! #JudgementDay.

Talking Points: Will City finish third? Has this season been a failure on Pep and if so, who would you like to see him bring in to improve the squad? Will Palace do the job and beat Hull City next week to confirm EPL safety?

Arsenal 2-0 Manchester United

Goal scorers: Xhaka, Welbeck.

Southampton 0-2 Arsenal

Goal scorers: Sanchez, Giroud

Two vital victories this week for Arsenal, saw Wenger finally get a league victory over Mourinho – at the thirteenth attempt. These back to back wins now see Arsenal in 5th position, four points behind Liverpool with a game in hand – as they cling on to hopes of finishing in the Champions League places, for the 21st consecutive season of Wengers tenure.

Talking Points: Can Arsenal really do it and finish top 4? What is going on with Arsene Wenger? Is Mourinho really prioritising Europa League and will it pay off? Griezmann, Lukaku, Varane, James Rodriquez, Aguero, Malcolm – of all the star names linked to Old Trafford in the summer – which transfers are realistic?

Liverpool 0-0 Southampton

Talking Points: Can Liverpool recover from the disappointment of not winning this match to claim top 4 place or will Arsenal and Man City out muscle them at the death? Was Fraser Forster clever in his antics which resulted in James Milner, missing a penalty? Is Claude Puel’s job really under threat?

Swansea 1-0 Everton

Goal scorer: Llorente

Talking Points: This victory took Swansea out of the relegation zone with just 2 games to go – will they go on to survive? Will Barkley sign a new contract? Will we be seeing Gylffi in an Everton shirt next season?

Leicester 3-0 Watford

Goal scorers: Ndidi, Mahrez, Albrighton

Talking Points: Who will still be at Leicester City next season out of Ndidi, Vardy and Mahrez? Will Shakespeare get the job full time or be replaced by a so called ‘bigger name’? Will Walter Mazzarri and star captain Troy Deeney, be offloaded in the summer – West Brom poised for the later?

Hull City 0-2 Sunderland

Goal scorers: Jones, Defoe

Talking Points: Can Hull beat Palace next match? Where will manager Marco Silva be next season after his impressive stint? With relegation confirmed last week, can Sunderland bounce straight back up next season with Moyes now confirmed at the helm?

Burnley 2-2 West Brom

Goal scorers: Vokes, x2 – Rondon, Dawson

Talking Points: Will the departure of Michael Keane lead to an exodus of stars for Dyche’s team? Does Pulis deserve more credit for the job he does at West Brom? Can 8th get them in Europe if Chelsea win FA Cup or Arsenal do, whilst making top 4?

Bournemouth 2-2 Stoke City

Goal scorers: Stanislas, Shawcross (OG) – Mousset (OG), Biram Diouf

Talking Points: This point technically guaranteed both team EPL safety for another season. With that in mind we ask;

Along with Joshua King, who else has been the stand out performers for the Cherries this year, which may result in a big summer move? Could boss Eddie Howe move on to bigger things as soon as next season? Has Stoke City’s season been a failure? How can they improve next season?
